Traces
Humans hold the innate ability of finding inner strength, even in dire situations. In my project “Traces” (2023) I uncover this remarkable aspect of the human spirit in the context of transcendence. It is a visual representation of my own spiritual and emotional journey, as I look for my sources of resolve. With an intuitive approach I focused my attention on observing and noticing various manifestations of sensations that somehow brought joy or peace into my life.
I’ve found a lot of these to be out of mundane things that occurred daily. Finding the extraordinary in the ordinary has given me a new perspective and made me more appreciative of my surroundings. Observing natural phenomena as a way of building spiritual connections made me aware of the boundaries and complexities of the mind, how different occurrences can present themselves in a multitude of ways just by changing one's perception.
Reaching this almost delusional sense of mind has been a great contrast to my otherwise rational way of thinking and experiencing things. Putting myself in a more connected, feeling-based position widened my horizons not just in the context of spirituality but also in my artistic expression.
