Secrets and Lies - Home

“Secrets and Lies - Home" (2021) is a project dealing with my family’s past, constructed by my grandmother’s memories. The series is centered around the subject of domestic violence, and the resulting feelings of afraidness, shame, and loneliness. By collating these unhealed, lingering thoughts of childhood trauma with my grandmother’s present self I got to understand her and our family’s history better. Picking up on behavioral patterns and realising our transgenerational trauma through communication and images we started the journey of our collective healing.
