You end there, I start here

In “You end there, I start here” (2025) I explore the importance of boundaries, deriving from a journey of self-reflection rooted in childhood trauma and the either unfelt, or unspoken emotions it left behind. The work challenges the dynamics of emotional health and safety, focusing on reconnecting with negative emotions as necessary tools for survival. Through symbolic and staged imagery, I embark on a process of reevaluating my relationship with myself and others, addressing harmful patterns that have shaped my character, my actions, and my sense of self-worth.

With staged and symbolic imagery, I form a visual diary, revealing suppressed feelings and reflecting on the significance of emotional boundaries. Some images are abstract, others symbolic, accompanied by text that provides emotional context. Ultimately, the work becomes a testament to growth and healing – an act of emotional honesty and a step toward authentic connection with both myself and others.
